Description

Howdon dewatering and liming facility was designed and built by Agrivert for Northumbrian Water in 2004. The plant dewaters sewage and pasteurises it using a lime hot box system. In addition, it is equipped with a 400 tonne feed silo that allows seamless transfer of the treated cake to land. Agrivert also provides recycling services to Northumbrian Water, including sourcing markets for the 120,000 tonnes of sewage cake produced each year.
