Acceptable Wastes

The facility is designed to accept source segregated green garden waste. It diverts organic waste from landfill and produces a valuable organic compost fertiliser. Wastes that can be treated in the facility include a very wide spectrum of green waste including plant cuttings, weeds, grass cuttings, hedge prunings, cut flowers and branches no larger than 7.5cm in diameter. We are unable to accept Japanese knotweed or treated wood.

Description

Built to service Oxford City Council and South Oxfordshire and The Vale of White Horse District Councils, Wallingford composting site processes up to 25,000 tonnes of compost a year. The site is also used throughout the year to educate members of the public and school children about the benefits of recycling.
